In this age of smart phones, texting, and relentless technology, we invite you to unplug and join Picosa for an evening you won't forget. You will enjoy a live chamber music performance in an intimate setting and following the concert, you can chat with the performers and fellow audience members at our Meet the Musicians reception.
Picosa is a mixed chamber ensemble (flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano) that launched in 2014 with concert series jointly at Pianoforte Chicago and Mayslake Peabody Estate, Oak Brook. Since then we have been featured in numerous concert series throughout the Chicago area. The mission of the ensemble is to present diverse programs of repertoire that span styles and eras of time. Additionally, the ensemble has been committed to featuring the music of local composers, most notably Composer-in-Residence Jonathon Kirk. Other featured composers include Shulamit Ran, Augusta Read Thomas, Marc Mellits, Shawn Okpebholo, Howard Whitaker, and more. Finally, Picosa supports rising young musicians with free student tickets as well as its established Interludes Chamber Ensembles program which features students and amateur ensembles in pre-concert performances at Mayslake Peabody Estate concerts.
